Parenting App Babybilly "This Year's Parenting Trend is RABBIT"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Village Baby, which operates the pregnancy and childcare information platform ‘Babybilly,’ announced on the 27th that it has selected 'RABBIT' as this year’s childcare market trend. It is a compound word formed from the first letters of Review (R), Advice (A), Basic (B), Buy Online (B), Influencer (I), and Trust (T).


Village Baby recorded about 70,000 review data entries in the second half of last year. It explained that this is the area parents refer to the most when purchasing childcare products. The demand to share childcare-related tips with parents in similar situations is increasing. During the same period, the community within the Babybilly app that connects parents, called ‘Bedong (Babybilly Donggi),’ generated an average of 100,000 user-generated content (UGC) posts per month.

It was analyzed that items faithful to the basics of childcare products consistently gain popularity. Analyzing over 2 million product sales and view data, the products continuously chosen were the most basic ones such as baby bottles, diapers, and weaning tableware.


The trend of purchasing childcare products online has continued since COVID-19. Accordingly, the purchasing method of learning about childcare tips and products through influencers is becoming established. Additionally, there is a steady demand for reliable information regarding product ingredients and safety.


Lee Jung-yoon, CEO of Village Baby, said, "By analyzing 2 million data entries collected last year, we have provided information on infant product shopping trends needed by parents this year," adding, "We will also collaborate with leading domestic and international infant product manufacturers to create innovative and sustainable childcare market trends while striving to grow into a super app."
