[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, has selected 'Yeonghojinmi' and 'Yeongjinbyeot' as the public reserve rice varieties for the 2024 crop.
The city announced on the 27th that it held a meeting to select the purchase varieties for the 2024 public reserve rice crop at the Agricultural Technology Center the previous day and decided on the purchase varieties.

According to the city, 12 stakeholders including representatives from administration, Nonghyup RPC, agricultural organizations, and farmers attended the meeting.
The selected Yeonghojinmi and Yeongjinbyeot are mid-late maturing varieties cultivated in single-cropping plains in the southern region.
A city official stated, "These two varieties have excellent taste and are resistant to pests and diseases, which is expected to enhance the competitiveness of local rice quality and secure cultivation safety," adding, "We will actively promote the selected varieties to farmers and make efforts to ensure no disruption in securing and distributing high-quality seeds."
