[Concall] LG Display "Expanding New Businesses Including Gaming Monitors, Transparent Displays, and Sound Solutions"

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] LG Display announced that it will actively expand new businesses this year, including gaming monitors and transparent products.

During the Q4 earnings conference call held on the 27th, LG Display explained, "We are targeting new businesses centered on high-end gaming monitors with a high willingness to pay for premium products based on large OLED technology," adding, "We are currently in discussions with 8 to 9 customers and plan to start full-scale mass production within this year."

They continued, "For transparent products, we are targeting key vertical companies that can highlight the value of transparency, mainly in retail and architecture," and added, "Rather than selling panels as single items, we are approaching from a solution perspective and collaborating with various partners to build a new ecosystem."

Regarding sound solutions, they stated, "Unlike existing sound solutions that occupied space, we received the CES Innovation Award this year for a sound solution installed in film form," and said, "We plan to supply it together with OLED and promote business targeting automobile interiors, where space constraints make speaker installation difficult."
