Last Year Bond Settlement Amount 6627.5 Trillion Won... 5.1% Decrease Compared to Previous Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Korea Securities Depository announced on the 27th that the total bond settlement amount recorded 6627.5 trillion won, a 5.1% decrease compared to last year (6980.1 trillion won).

By market, the on-exchange bond settlement amount was 522.2 trillion won, down 18.2% from last year, while the over-the-counter (OTC) bond settlement amount was 6105.3 trillion won, a 3.7% decrease during the same period. The total OTC bond market settlement amount accounted for 92% of the total bond settlement amount.

In the on-exchange bond market, the government bond specialized distribution market recorded 388.9 trillion won, the on-exchange general bond market 11.9 trillion won, and the on-exchange Repo market 121.4 trillion won, with market settlement amounts decreasing by 21%, 24%, and 3.7% respectively compared to the previous year.

Looking at settlement amounts by product type, bonds amounted to 2452.6 trillion won, down 18.8% from last year, while CDs and CPs increased by 19.6% to 2386.5 trillion won during the same period. Short-term bonds totaled 1266.3 trillion won, a 4.6% decrease compared to last year.
