The city plans to actively support agricultural settlement, including agricultural production activities and securing residential spaces, with a total project cost of 398 million KRW to help returnees, whose lifestyles completely change, settle stably in rural areas.
The return-to-farming and return-to-village support project includes support for farmhouse repair costs, agricultural settlement support, and housing construction design fee support.
Starting this year, to actively attract urban residents, the project is included in the 8th term public pledge projects, and subsidy support funds will be significantly expanded.
The farmhouse repair cost support project provides a residential environment so that returnees can settle stably in rural areas and engage in farming, supporting up to 8 million KRW per household for repairs such as window and door replacement, boiler replacement, wallpaper and flooring, and roof repairs of old vacant houses.
The agricultural settlement support project supports the purchase of small-scale facilities or agricultural machinery for stable agricultural settlement in the early stages of return-to-farming. Returnees under 65 years old are supported up to 8 million KRW per household, and married households in their 20s and 30s are supported up to 12 million KRW per household.
The housing construction design fee support project provides support for design costs to secure stable living spaces, supporting up to 3 million KRW per household.
Applicants must be household heads under 65 years old who have lived in urban areas for more than one year and have moved to Jeongeup rural areas within the past five years.
However, applicants must have completed more than 100 hours of return-to-farming education.
Those who wish to apply should submit the application form and required documents to their local eup, myeon, or dong office by the 10th of next month.
Detailed information can be found on the city hall website or through the local eup, myeon office, or dong community center.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “We will implement various support policies so that returnees who have chosen Jeongeup as their second happy home can settle stably in rural areas and revitalize rural areas where the population is declining.”
