Payment for Low-Income Single-Parent Households During Winter Season
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will provide temporary heating cost support to low-income single-parent families struggling due to unprecedented sudden cold waves and soaring energy prices.
The heating cost support is a policy to support the livelihood stability of low-income single-parent families facing difficulties due to winter cold waves, soaring energy prices, and economic recession. The county has urgently allocated contingency funds to provide 200,000 KRW in cash per household.

The support target is single-parent families raising children under 18 years old (under 22 years old if in school) with a standard median income of 60% or less. Applications can be submitted by visiting the resident registration address's eup/myeon office by February 15.
As of the end of December last year, Goheung-gun supported 189 low-income single-parent households with 200,000 KRW each, totaling 37.8 million KRW, expecting to reduce the burden of heating costs during the winter season.
A county official said, "We will do our best to ensure that no household is omitted from receiving heating cost support through prior individual guidance, and to help single-parent families spend a warm winter with their children by alleviating the heating cost burden."
