[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun is promoting a project to distribute eco-friendly low-NOx boilers for households, which have a significant effect on reducing air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx) and high energy efficiency.
According to the county on the 27th, applications for this project can be submitted through dealerships until the 28th of next month, and a total of 50 units (40 for general households, 10 for low-income households) will be supported.
The support targets are households in Gochang-gun that install or replace household low-NOx boilers.
The support amount is 100,000 KRW for general households and 600,000 KRW for low-income households. Priority support is given to households that replace old boilers with low-NOx boilers certified by the Environmental Label or newly install low-NOx boilers.
The eco-friendly low-NOx boilers eligible for installation support use city gas (LNG) as fuel and are products certified by the Environmental Label of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute. Certification status can be checked on the website.
Kang Pilgu, head of the county's Environmental Hygiene Division, said, “Installing low-NOx boilers not only reduces air pollutants (fine dust) but also improves energy efficiency, leading to fuel savings. We hope residents will replace their boilers with eco-friendly low-NOx boilers and participate in creating a pleasant air quality.”
