Foreigners-Only Tourist Pass Launching from February 1
24-Hour and 48-Hour Passes, 6-Month Pilot Operation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City will launch the ‘Visit Busan Pass,’ a foreigner-exclusive tourist pass that allows free admission to paid tourist facilities within the city and use of public transportation, on February 1st and begin a six-month pilot operation.
The ‘Visit Busan Pass’ is a free pass-type tourist pass targeting individual foreign tourists, allowing pass holders free admission to 30 paid tourist facilities within the designated time for each pass type.
Additionally, the tourist pass includes a rechargeable transportation card function, enabling foreigners to handle both Busan tourism and transportation with a single card.
The pass types consist of 24-hour and 48-hour passes, priced at 49,000 KRW and 69,000 KRW respectively. Based on the 24-hour pass, visitors can enjoy up to a 70% discount on total admission fees when using five tourist attractions, city tours, and more.
Paid tourist facilities accessible with the ‘Visit Busan Pass’ include ▲X The Sky Observatory ▲Haeundae Blueline Park Beach Train ▲Lotte World Adventure ▲Skyline Luge ▲City Tour Bus tickets, totaling 30 locations, and additionally, discounts are available at 77 special discount affiliated stores.
Sales of the ‘Visit Busan Pass’ will be conducted both online and offline. Offline sales locations include the first Visit Busan Pass promotional space on the 2nd floor of Busan Station, six gateway area tourist information centers (Gimhae Airport International and Domestic terminals, Busan Port, etc.), and 10 affiliated hotels.
To enhance convenience for foreign tourists, advance purchases can be made through online travel agencies (KKday, Klook, Trip.com, etc.) and the official Visit Busan Pass website, with pass collection available at gateway area sales points upon arrival in Busan.
During the six-month pilot operation, the city plans to gather various opinions from Visit Busan Pass purchasers, affiliated stores, and the local community to supplement infrastructure and operational shortcomings, aiming for an official launch of the Visit Busan Pass starting in August.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “By launching the Visit Busan Pass at the time when the global tourism market is reopening, we will enhance the satisfaction of foreign visitors to Busan and elevate the status of Busan as an international tourist city.” He added, “Furthermore, by promoting tourist attractions and various surrounding F&B (Food & Beverage) under the Visit Busan Pass brand, we expect to provide foreigners with diverse sightseeing and entertainment options in Busan, extend their stay duration, and greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
Detailed information on how to use the Visit Busan Pass, affiliated stores, and other details can be found on the official Visit Busan Pass website in four languages (English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese). The Visit Busan Pass mobile app (Android/iOS) is scheduled to be released in February.
