LG Electronics Reports Operating Profit of 3.5 Trillion KRW Last Year, Down 12.5% from Previous Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] LG Electronics announced on the 26th that its provisional operating profit for last year, based on consolidated financial statements, recorded 3.551 trillion KRW, a 12.5% decrease compared to the previous year.

During the same period, pre-tax profit was 2.5398 trillion KRW, down 33.8%. Net profit increased by 31.7% to 1.8631 trillion KRW, and sales rose 12.9% to 83.4673 trillion KRW.

The company explained that the increase in net profit was due to a base effect reflecting the discontinued operating loss of the mobile phone business in the previous year.
