Recruitment for Participation in 'Happiness Classroom with Acoustic Guitar' in Dong-gu, Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will promote the 'Happy Classroom with Acoustic Guitar' support project targeting elementary schools in the district.
Dong-gu plans to receive applications for participation in the project from 11 elementary schools in the district by the 10th of next month, in consultation with the Dongbu Office of Education.
The selection criteria will be based on ▲the need for cultural and artistic support (schools in culturally and artistically underserved areas) ▲suitability of the educational environment ▲student participation, among others. Priority will be given to schools with ▲a high ratio of socially disadvantaged students compared to the total number of classes ▲schools with little or no cultural and artistic program support ▲schools with a small number of students per class.
The 'Acoustic Guitar Happy Classroom' was initiated to establish a foundation for cultural and artistic education by providing professional instructors to schools.
It started as a pilot program in 2019 with 6 classes in 4 schools, expanded to 16 classes in 7 schools in 2020, 26 classes in 9 schools in 2021, and 29 classes in 10 schools last year, increasing to 30 classes with 600 students this year.
From this year, the program has been extended from 10 weeks and 20 hours to 12 weeks and 24 hours, and acoustic guitar lessons are conducted during music class or creative experiential activity time.
After the project ends, a recital will be held to share the musical growth experience.
