[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Com2uS announced on the 26th that it will release the comic book based on the intellectual property (IP) of ‘Summoners War,’ titled Summoners War: Awakening, in North America on April 19 (local time).
Since the end of 2017, Com2uS has been expanding the universe of its global hit IP ‘Summoners War’ in collaboration with Skybound, the U.S. comic book publisher of ‘The Walking Dead.’ Following the first comic book Summoners War: Legacy, which was released in a limited edition of 30,000 copies in March 2020, the publication of Summoners War: Awakening will further broaden the universe.
This comic connects to the world of the summoning role-playing game (RPG) Summoners War: Chronicle, which was launched in North America last November. The story features the main characters from the first volume along with new villains and powerful summoned creatures. It will depict the adventures of the summoner ‘Rai’ and his party, who are pursued by formidable enemies including sky pirates and bounty hunters amid a war in the mystical land of Alia.
The production team includes returning writers such as Justin Jordan, who wrote DC Comics’ Adventures of Superman and Green Lantern, and Luca Claretti, who illustrated Adventure Time Comics. Igor Monti, the colorist known for his work on Power Rangers, joins the team for the first time.
The comic book will be available offline at comic stores in the United States and Canada. It can also be purchased on online platforms such as Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, ComiXology, and Google Play.
