Expansion of Incheon-type Disabled Activity Support Service... Additional 80 Hours per Month for Severe Cases

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced on the 26th that it will strengthen support by increasing the service hours and number of recipients for the Incheon-type Disabled Activity Support Project this year.

The city has allocated its own budget to provide additional activity assistance services of up to 80 hours per month for severely disabled individuals who find the national activity support hours insufficient. As a result, all recipients can use up to 471 hours per month (including national funding).

Additionally, for the most severely disabled individuals who require constant care due to being bedridden or having paralysis of limbs, living alone or in vulnerable households, an additional 465 hours per month will be supported, allowing them to receive up to 856 hours of service per month.

Along with this, the number of recipients for the 'Additional Support Project for Severely Disabled Activity Support' under the Incheon-type Disabled Activity Support Project will increase from 1,000 last year to 1,080 this year, and the number of recipients for the 'Most Severe 24-hour Activity Support Project' will increase from 60 last year to 70 this year.

The total number of recipients of disabled activity support services in the Incheon area this year is counted at 7,478, an increase of 476 compared to last year.

Notably, starting this year, disabled individuals under the age of 65 who are using long-term care services under the Long-Term Care Insurance Act for the Elderly due to senile diseases will also be eligible to receive activity support services.

Furthermore, the additional allowance paid to activity assistants who care for the most severely disabled will increase from 2,000 KRW to 3,000 KRW per hour.

Disabled activity support is a project that provides activity assistance services (support for physical, household, and social activities) to disabled individuals who find it difficult to carry out daily and social activities alone due to physical or mental disabilities, thereby supporting their independent living.
