Norang Poongseon, Web Log Data-Based Analysis
Da Nang Leads with 11%
Norang Balloon announced on the 26th that an analysis of overseas travel demand for February showed that the reservation rate for Southeast Asia destinations was the highest.
The destination with the highest reservation rate was Da Nang, Vietnam (11%), which pushed Japan, which had consistently held the top spot since the end of last year, to second place. This was followed by Bangkok and Pattaya (10%), Guam (6%), Kota Kinabalu (5.5%), and Singapore (3.3%). It was also found that the highest proportion of departures included weekends (Friday to Sunday).
Among the types of travel companions in February, traveling with children accounted for the largest share at about 30%, among various types such as relatives, friends gatherings, couples or lovers, and solo travelers.
In the first quarter of this year, the majority of main bookers were in their 30s to 50s, and they preferred short-distance trips that could be completed in a short schedule rather than long-distance travel.
A Norang Balloon official explained, "It is interpreted that demand for traveling with children continues in February, which is spring break, ahead of the new school semester that starts in earnest," adding, "There is a noticeable tendency to prefer warm regions to avoid the cold weather."
The February travel trend was calculated based on Norang Balloon’s online weblog data from December of last year. Norang Balloon has prepared an integrated promotion called 'Fam Kit List' for popular destinations such as Guam and Saipan, offering a 50% discount on the product price for children when booking with children. The company explained that product information is easy to view and customers can choose and book according to their preferences with various options.
