Saltlux Introduces Intelligent Chatbot Applying Next Lottery Project National Secretary 'Guppi'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Artificial intelligence (AI) company Saltlux announced on the 26th that it has been selected as the preferred negotiation candidate for the next lottery business, with an expected annual sales of approximately 68.7 billion KRW through a consortium.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance's Lottery Commission has begun selecting a new entrusted operator as the current lottery business operation contract with the existing entrusted operator expires this year. The next entrusted lottery operator will exclusively perform major tasks such as building and operating the lottery system, distribution, and sales management for five years from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028.

Saltlux formed the ‘Haengbok Lottery’ consortium with 10 companies including Kamsys, Maxst, Megazone, Hecto Financial, and Rainbow Communication. It was selected as the preferred negotiation candidate, surpassing the existing Donghaeng Lottery and Nanum Lotto consortiums. The Haengbok Lottery consortium will sign a contract next month after technical negotiations with the Lottery Commission and the Public Procurement Service. After completing business preparations by the end of this year, lottery issuance will begin in January 2024.

Saltlux will focus on enhancing the image of the lottery business and advancing the system. To promote proactive and optimized marketing based on customer public opinion about the lottery by integrating and visualizing vast structured and unstructured data on the internet, it will introduce an AI consumer analysis system. By adopting an intelligent chatbot system that can respond promptly to customer inquiries 24/7 throughout the year and is also applied to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s national secretary ‘Guppi,’ customer convenience will be maximized.

A Saltlux official stated, "We will make every effort in advance to ensure that this important public interest project for raising funds to improve national welfare operates smoothly," and added, "We will do our best to improve the efficiency and systematization of the lottery business by utilizing the technology and experience that have led digital innovation in over 1,500 companies across various fields such as finance and public sectors."

The expected profits generated through the project also attract attention. The Haengbok Lottery consortium proposed an average commission rate of 0.87% of sales in the bid. Considering the expected lottery sales amount over five years presented by the Lottery Commission, the consortium expects to earn an average annual profit of 68.7 billion KRW.
