Hyundai Department Store is launching an eco-friendly campaign to collect unused mobile phones and recycle them into metal resources.
On the 26th, Hyundai Department Store announced that it will conduct a "Mobile Phone Resource Circulation Campaign" to collect unused mobile phones at customer service desks in 16 stores nationwide, including the Apgujeong Main Store, until the 31st.
The mobile phones collected through the resource circulation campaign will be sent to a specialized recycling company, where they will be crushed and recycled into metal resources. Customers participating in the campaign will receive 2,000 H Points from Hyundai Department Store Group's integrated membership per mobile phone, with a maximum participation limit of three phones per person.
Additionally, Hyundai Department Store will donate 1,000 KRW per collected mobile phone to a fund dedicated to preserving the habitat of the endangered otter species. Hyundai Department Store plans to hold the second round of the event from the 13th to the 17th of next month and aims to conduct the campaign at least six times throughout the year. This campaign is part of Hyundai Department Store's industry-unique customer participation eco-friendly initiative, the "365 Recycle Campaign."
A Hyundai Department Store official stated, "We are continuously expanding the 365 Recycle Campaign to establish an eco-friendly platform that practices carbon neutrality together with our customers," adding, "We will continue to develop eco-friendly campaigns and systems that customers can easily participate in by leveraging the characteristics of a distribution company, taking the lead in realizing the social value of 'environmental protection.'"
