"GS25X Kukcat Synergy in Full Swing" GS Retail Launches 'kkkmandu'

GS Retail’s convenience store GS25 announced on the 26th that it will launch ‘kkkmandu’ in collaboration with Cookat.


As part of its O4O (Online for Offline) strategy, GS Retail acquired Cookat, Asia’s largest food media company, in January last year and has been strengthening various ready-to-eat (HMR) products such as Cookat desserts, meals, and side dishes at GS25 convenience stores. Additionally, GS has expanded Cookat-enhanced and specialized stores operating more than 10 Cookat products, including GS Hapjeong Premium Branch, GS25 Suwon Haengridan-gil Branch, and GS25 Sillim Nanwoo Branch, to over 2,300 locations.


‘kkkmandu,’ a playful expression of Cookat’s initials, is a product developed to suit the tastes of GS25’s core customers in their 20s and 30s, featuring dumplings, the most demanded frozen ready meal among GS25 customers. Considering that convenience store users often cook and eat on the spot, the seasoning was adjusted to be enjoyable without soy sauce, maximizing convenience.


The product was designed to enhance quality by increasing the pork content for rich juice while maintaining affordability with a price set at 4,900 KRW (385g). ‘kkkmandu’ will be available for purchase at GS25 convenience stores and GS The Fresh supermarkets starting from the 27th.


Yoo Young-jun, head of the GS25 frozen ready meal team, said, “Demand for ready meals increased during the COVID-19 period, and at the same time, the quality has significantly improved. GS25 aims to become a platform responsible for customers’ dining tables at the closest distance through a variety of products ranging from desserts and HMR centered on Cookat and Caviar to premium restaurant ready meals (RMR).”
