Namyang Fire Station Begins 'Winter Water Rescue Training'

Preparation for Inland Water Accidents: Ice Surface, Drowning Rescue, and First Aid

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Namyangju Fire Station announced on the 25th that "from the 25th, a three-day winter water rescue training will be conducted at Onam Reservoir in Onam-eup, Namyangju-si."

All members of the Namyangju Fire Station 119 Rescue Team participated in this training, which was organized to prepare for winter inland water accidents and to enhance the rescue team's response to water accidents and diving capabilities.


The training includes ▲ dry suit and diving equipment operation and emergency response training according to the special characteristics of winter diving ▲ underwater search under the ice (in pairs) ▲ adaptation training to ice water ▲ ice surface and drowning victim rescue and first aid.


A Namyangju Fire Station official said, "Winter water accidents require proficiency in rescue techniques through special rescue training under adverse conditions," adding, "We will continue training to protect citizens' safety."
