Yeongcheon City Technology Transfer 'Heukbori Brown Rice Chips' to be Officially Marketed from the 27th

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Honest Farmer, which received the black barley chip manufacturing technology in Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongbuk, will officially start selling ‘Heukbori Hyeonmi Chip’ on Public Home Shopping from the 27th.


Yeongcheon-si signed a business agreement with Honest Farmer last November for the technology transfer and commercialization of black barley chips.


Honest Farmer, located in Cheongtong-myeon, Yeongcheon-si, is a food specialty company mainly producing and selling pressed juice and stick jelly. It has an annual sales of 2.2 billion KRW and 8 employees.

The newly released ‘Heukbori Hyeonmi Chip’ contains 30% black barley, offering a unique flavor compared to rice chips sold on the market. It is a convenient healthy snack made with 100% domestic agricultural products, free from sugar, preservatives, colorants, and food additives.


Choi Ki-moon, mayor of Yeongcheon-si, said, “We expect the newly developed black barley chip, aligned with the recent trend of health-oriented consumption, to lead to increased grain consumption in the Yeongcheon area,” adding, “We hope ‘Heukbori Hyeonmi Chip’ will establish itself as a specialty product. We will continue to accelerate the enhancement of added value and consumption of agricultural products through ongoing development of processed products using local agricultural products and technology transfer.”
