Suncheon City 'Become the Owner of an Urban Garden' Garden Plot Leasing

Pre-sale Applications from the 6th to the 8th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will lease urban garden plots to Suncheon citizens from the 6th to the 8th of next month to promote the culture of urban agriculture.

There are three urban garden sites available for lease: Shindae Urban Garden (2136, Shindae-ri, Haeryong-myeon) with 207 plots, Jorye Urban Garden (382-5, Jorye-dong) with 40 plots, and Yeonhyang Urban Garden (1621-1, Yeonhyang-dong) with 25 plots, totaling 272 plots.

Each garden plot measures 10㎡. The lease period is from March until December of next year.

Applicants must be household heads registered as residents of Suncheon City as of the announcement date, and each household can apply for one plot. The lease fee is 71,000 KRW for Shindae Urban Garden and 60,000 KRW for Jorye and Yeonhyang Urban Gardens.

Applications can be submitted via email or in person at the Suncheon Agricultural Technology Center, Agricultural Policy Division, Farmer Development Team. The application form can be downloaded from the Suncheon City and Suncheon Agricultural Technology Center websites (notices section).

Suncheon City plans to continue leasing idle urban spaces as urban gardens, fostering harmonious coexistence between citizens and nature, providing educational spaces to learn about natural ecology, promoting community formation, spreading urban lifestyle culture, and enhancing the value of urban agriculture.
