Over 200 Public Officials Begin Emergency Non-Standing Duty
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan-gun (Governor Kim San) deployed about 200 public officials on emergency duty on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the 24th, and directly dispatched them to the field to make every effort in snow removal operations.
According to the county on the 25th, as of 5 p.m. that day, a heavy snowfall of up to 200mm accumulated in one day, and about 300 personnel from the civil-military joint autonomous disaster prevention group and others, along with about 40 pieces of equipment, were deployed to carry out snow removal operations on roads and urban areas where snow had piled up.

Along with the public officials involved in the snow removal operations, merchants and local residents also participated in clearing snow in front of stores, houses, and surrounding streets.
In particular, Governor Kim San instructed that on the 25th, upon arriving at work, senior officials and Muan-eup employees conduct snow removal operations on major roads in Muan-eup and surrounding urban areas in the eup and myeon districts, while employees residing in Namak and Oryong districts report to the New Town Support Group to carry out snow removal work.
Governor Kim San said, “We must deploy our capabilities to the fullest to ensure that residents’ daily lives are not disrupted and carry out prompt and effective snow removal operations,” and added, “We also ask residents to actively participate in clearing snow in front of their homes and stores.”
