[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will operate 160 training courses this year to enhance the capabilities of employees working at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province.

On the 25th, the agency announced that it will support training programs such as the 'Regional Industry Customized Workforce Training Project,' 'Core Job Training for Employees,' 'Customized On-site Training for Companies,' and the 'World Class CEO Academy' for SME CEOs this year.

Through the Regional Industry Customized Workforce Training Project, training reflecting industry trends and the job training needs of SME employees will be conducted in areas such as ▲Mechanical Design ▲Smart Factory ▲Information and Communication ▲Furniture. This training is free and supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and Gyeonggi-do.

The Core Job Training for Employees consists of reimbursable and non-reimbursable courses. Although it is paid training, the cost is up to 50% cheaper compared to other training institutions at a cost close to actual expenses, and in the case of reimbursable courses, 30% of the training fee can be refunded.

Customized On-site Training for Companies is provided as a course tailored exclusively for the company after conducting educational consulting according to the needs of SMEs. Companies only need to bear the training cost at the actual expense level.

The World Class CEO Academy is a training program designed to strengthen the global business capabilities of export company CEOs, covering topics from basic trade to overseas marketing practices, including regional studies and overseas training courses.

In addition, the agency operates leadership courses for employees and online training courses free of charge with support from Gyeonggi-do.

An agency official stated, "We will always listen to the voices from the field to provide demand-tailored education for SMEs," adding, "Through educational support, we will help improve the job capabilities of SME employees and strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs, and we will do our best to link this with various support projects of the agency."
