[Asia Economy, Reporter Oh Sooyeon] SK Telecom announced on January 25 that, following the exclusive early January launch of the 'ZEM Kkureogi Pokemon Edition,' it will implement the 'ZEM New Semester Promotion,' packed with benefits for parents and children, to mark the start of the 2023 new school semester.
ZEM is an integrated kids service brand from SKT and SKB, designed for children aged 12 and under. It has established itself as a leading kids brand in Korea by offering a wide range of content and services across both wired and wireless platforms.

Starting today through March 31, SKT will hold the 'Exciting New Semester Gift for Kids♥ZEM' event, offering a variety of prizes to approximately 1,200 parents who register their children on the ZEM app. Prizes include tablet PCs, Sidiz Ringo chairs, and Micro kickboards, which will be awarded through a lottery.
Details on how to participate in the event and other information can be found on the Events & Benefits page within the ZEM app. Winners will be notified separately at a later date.
Additionally, simply downloading and signing up for the ZEM app allows users to participate in another event, which offers a 1:1 English video lesson trial voucher worth 200,000 KRW through a partnership with 'Tuntun English,' a platform specializing in English education for preschool and elementary students.
The ZEM app is a service designed to help children aged 12 and under develop healthy smartphone usage habits. Through the ZEM app, parents can manage their child's smartphone usage time and app usage, check information such as fine dust levels and school meal menus, and use a variety of free safety features, including real-time location tracking, harmful site blocking, and Smombie (smartphone zombie) prevention. If the child uses an SKT smartphone, parents can use the ZEM service regardless of their own carrier.
SKT is also running a promotion offering the 'Mobi Data Pack' (5,500 KRW per month, including B tv Mobile Data 1GB per day + 3Mbps) free of charge, allowing users to watch a variety of content-such as 'Tuntun English' exclusively provided by B tv ZEM and the popular elementary school comic series 'Why?'-on smartphones without worrying about data usage until December of this year.
This promotion is available to customers who newly subscribe to SKT's 'ZEM Plan' children's mobile rate plans (two 5G ZEM Plans and two LTE ZEM Plans) between today and March 31.
In addition, SKT has prepared a 'New Semester Special Exhibition' on its official online store, T Direct Shop, where children who purchase the 'ZEM Kkureogi Phone Pokemon Edition' will receive special new semester gifts (T Gift), such as a Pikachu mood lamp, a Disney charging set, and a Kakao stationery set.
Furthermore, throughout March, SKT plans to operate its flagship T Membership discount program, 'T Day,' with a focus on benefits for child customers.
