[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Lim Byung-jin has been appointed as the 6th Secretary-General of the Northeast Asian Regional Local Governments Association (NEAR).
Ulsan City announced that on the 25th at 4:10 PM, an appointment certificate will be presented to the 6th NEAR Secretary-General Lim Byung-jin in the mayor's office on the 7th floor of the city hall main building.

Ulsan City is the 14th chair organization of NEAR (2021?2023), and Mayor Kim Du-gyeom will present the appointment certificate to the Secretary-General in his capacity as the 14th chair.
Secretary-General Lim is an expert well-versed in Northeast Asian affairs, having served as Minister at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia, Minister at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, and Consul General at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shenyang.
Mayor Kim Du-gyeom said, "Through this new Secretary-General appointment, we will actively fulfill our role as the chair organization, including preparing for the general assembly."
Ulsan City plans to hold the 14th Northeast Asian Regional Local Governments Association General Assembly in the second half of this year.
The general assembly will proceed with holding sectoral subcommittee meetings by inviting member organizations and electing the next chair organization.
NEAR was established in 1996 to promote exchange, cooperation, and joint development among local governments in Northeast Asia, and currently has 79 metropolitan organizations from 6 countries as members.
