Reception Starts Sequentially from the 26th
Lotte Department Store announced on the 24th that it has started registration for the 2023 spring semester at its Culture Center, marking the beginning of its full-scale spring preparations.
Lotte Department Store will begin registration for the spring semester at the Culture Center from the 26th, increasing the total number of courses by 15% compared to last year. Registration dates will be split by region to minimize any inconvenience customers might experience.
First, various courses themed around "spring" will be offered. The flagship course is "Making Nutritious Food" by master Chinese cuisine chef Yeokyung Ok, who will share cooking secrets using various seasonal spring ingredients to help restore energy. Other unique classes include "Deoksugung Spring Photo Outing," "Oita Spring Bonsai Gardening," "Elegant Pot Rice Cooking by Yeona Table," and "Spring Feast by KkotSul X Danjari."
Premium classes, which have seen a recent surge in demand, have been expanded by 30% to offer even more variety. Following last year's early sell-out and buzz around the "Whiskey Enjoyment at Hotel Bar" class, this time a "Jazz X Wine Collaboration Class" will be held at the popular jazz bar "Dido Jazz Lounge," where participants can enjoy live performances while savoring wine pairings carefully selected by a renowned sommelier. This class is scheduled for April 30, World Jazz Day, and will feature wines personally recommended by Lotte Department Store’s Han Hee-su, the first female champion of the 2022 Asia Best Sommelier Competition.
Additionally, there are courses such as novelist Jeong Se-rang’s "Creative Methods in Everyday Life," "Paris Art Tour," where docent Lee Nam-il provides vivid stories about major works exhibited at the Louvre Museum and Orsay Museum in Paris, and "Italian Wine Humanities," a deep conversation about Italy’s history and regional wines with food columnist Kwon Eun-jung.
Registration for Lotte Department Store Culture Center courses can be done in person or through the official website. Due to expected high demand this semester, registration dates will be divided by region for the first time. For stores in Seoul, existing members who took Culture Center courses last semester can register from the 27th, and new members from the 28th. For stores in Incheon, Gyeonggi, and other provinces, existing members can register from the 26th, and new members from the 27th.
Kim Ji-hyun, Head of Marketing & Communication at Lotte Department Store, said, "We expect strong interest from customers this semester as well, so we have prepared with great care over a long period. We will continue to strive to provide customers with more special and enjoyable experiences through various classes available only at Lotte Department Store, including premium lectures."
