[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), will visit Korea on the 29th and 30th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 23rd.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NATO, Secretary General Stoltenberg will stay in Korea during this period and meet with high-ranking Korean government officials, including Foreign Minister Park Jin.
He is scheduled to meet with Minister Park on the 29th to discuss cooperation measures between Korea and NATO, which share key values such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law, as well as the regional security situation on the Korean Peninsula. In addition, he will participate in events such as paying tribute at the National Cemetery and delivering a lecture at the Choi Jong-hyun Academy.
The Secretary General is expected to visit Japan from the 30th until the 1st of next month.
The Korean Mission to NATO was newly established last November, following President Yoon Suk-yeol's attendance at the NATO summit in June last year.
