Call the Welfare Call Center When You Find Neighbors in Need of Help
Professional counselors provide tailored service guidance and conduct prompt initial consultations
Connect to the local community center if necessary, and ensure thorough follow-up to strengthen the social safety net
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is launching full-scale operation of the ‘Gwangjin One-Stop Welfare Call Center’ to quickly support neighbors in crisis situations.
Since September last year, the district has been operating the ‘Gwangjin One-Stop Welfare Call Center,’ a telephone consultation window for neighbors seeking emergency support or welfare counseling. A professional counselor who answers the call conducts an initial consultation and guides the caller to the customized services they need.
If you discover neighbors facing difficulties or in need of help, you can call the Welfare Call Center. This year, efforts are being made to enable more residents to use the call center by distributing information boards to 250 hospitals and pharmacies in the area.
The consultation areas include ▲support for low-income groups ▲elderly welfare ▲family welfare ▲welfare for the disabled ▲healthcare, among others. They provide detailed information on welfare services that can help the recipients, such as public benefits like Seoul-type emergency welfare, care SOS, and private donations.
If an in-depth consultation is deemed necessary, the case is referred to the relevant department or the local community center, which is well acquainted with the regional circumstances. Initial consultation details are shared through the social security information system ‘Next Generation Happiness e-Eum,’ based on which the community center conducts case meetings or emergency support.
After consultation, continuous monitoring and thorough follow-up are ensured until the crisis situation is resolved.
The Gwangjin One-Stop Welfare Call Center is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For nights or holidays, you can call Dasan120 and receive consultation the next day.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “If you see neighbors in need of help or going through difficulties, please call us anytime, and we will actively assist you. We will do our best to ensure that residents in crisis situations receive welfare services promptly.”
