85% of Respondents Satisfied with Last Year's Regular Tax Audit
"Responding Companies' Feedback to Be Reflected in This Year's Tax Audit"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] How did companies in the Ulsan area respond to the local tax audits?
Ulsan City conducted a survey from December 12 to 23, 2022, targeting corporations subject to the 2022 local tax audits.
This survey was the first of its kind nationwide to target corporations subject to local tax audits. It was designed to listen to difficulties and grievances during the audit period of corporations under regular annual tax audits and to reflect them in the following year's regular tax audits.
The survey was conducted via mail and email with 10 questions across 5 categories sent to 55 corporations subject to local tax audits, and 33 corporations responded.
85% of respondents expressed satisfaction with last year's regular tax audit, and 97% gave positive feedback that the auditors explained the process kindly and warmly.
Regarding the intensity of the audit, 75% responded that it was similar to previous audits, while 25% evaluated it as stricter than before.
As for difficulties, opinions included "the impossibility of predicting which corporations would be audited" and "conflicts in the interpretation of laws related to the audit."
Suggestions for improvement included requests such as "please avoid busy periods at work."
An official from Ulsan City stated, "We plan to actively reflect the opinions from this survey in the 2023 tax audit implementation plan."
Ulsan City collected 6.6 billion KRW in additional taxes from last year's regular tax audits.
