Spokesperson Kim Yong-gyun and Over 20 Staff Members Visit Samcheok Central Market and Comprehensive Social Welfare Center
[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] As part of the Lunar New Year holiday livelihood stabilization measures, Gangwon Province is conducting a province-wide 'Traditional Market Shopping' campaign. In this context, the spokesperson office of Gangwon Provincial Government visited Samcheok City to participate in 'Traditional Market Shopping' and visit welfare facilities.
The spokesperson office reported on the 20th that "Kim Yonggyun, the provincial spokesperson and also the Samcheok City regional cooperation officer, along with about 20 staff members, visited Samcheok Central Market on the 19th to listen to the difficulties of merchants and purchased Lunar New Year ritual items."

Following this, they visited the Samcheok City Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, where they discussed facility operations with the welfare policy division head of the city hall and the welfare center director, and delivered consolation gifts to residents in need of assistance.
Spokesperson Kim Yonggyun emphasized, "As this is a time of greater difficulty than ever due to COVID-19 and economic recession, a social atmosphere of sharing warm affection with neighbors is necessary," adding, "Everyone must come together to ensure that vulnerable neighbors are not left out."
Meanwhile, as part of this year’s Lunar New Year livelihood stabilization measures, the province has selected five categories: ▲price stabilization ▲consumption promotion ▲business stability ▲living stability ▲entertainment and attractions, and is vigorously conducting 'Traditional Market Shopping' events involving public officials from all cities and counties within Gangwon Province.
Governor Kim Jintae plans to start shopping at Chuncheon Pungmul Market from the 17th and continue until the first day of the holiday on the 21st, visiting seven traditional markets including Chuncheon and Gangneung to directly inspect holiday table prices and issues at traditional markets.
Governor Kim said, "I hope that residents will frequently use local traditional markets to restore the festive atmosphere of the past holidays and revive the local economy," adding, "We will strive to stabilize prices until the end of the Lunar New Year holiday so that all residents can have a prosperous holiday."
