According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 20th, Minister Qin stated during a phone call with Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister, the previous day, "China highly appreciates Iran's demonstration of sincerity and flexibility." He added, "China calls on all other parties to steadfastly maintain the direction of dialogue and negotiations," emphasizing, "China will continue to play its role in its own way."
Minister Qin said, "China has always approached China-Iran relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, wishes to cooperate closely with Iran, and promote a comprehensive cooperation plan between the two countries," adding, "We support Iran in safeguarding its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and hope to jointly uphold the basic norms of international relations such as the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, the common interests of developing countries, and international fairness and justice."
Regarding this, Minister Abdollahian responded, "We want to work closely with Minister Qin to develop bilateral relations," and "We will implement the comprehensive cooperation plan between the two countries and continue to firmly support each other on issues of core interests and protection of territorial sovereignty," the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
