CU, Last Year’s Chuseok Usage Doubled
Prices at Half the Cost of Regular Parcel Delivery
Recently, convenience store-to-convenience store parcel delivery services that can be used even during holiday periods have gained great popularity among consumers.
According to the industry on the 23rd, CU Kkiri Delivery saw a 108.2% increase in usage during last year's Chuseok compared to the previous year, while GS25 Half-Price Delivery increased by 189.4% and 189.1% during Seollal and Chuseok, respectively.
Convenience store parcel delivery involves sending and picking up parcels directly at convenience stores. CU Kkiri Delivery accepts orders anytime, including Sundays and public holidays, and GS25 Half-Price Delivery is available 365 days a year without breaks. The price is only about 1,600 to 2,400 won, roughly half the cost of regular parcel delivery.
CU is currently running a discount promotion on its PocketCU application, where customers using CU Kkiri Delivery can apply an 800 won coupon and use the service for just 1,000 won.
An industry official said, “More people are using convenience store-to-convenience store parcel delivery during holiday periods,” adding, “Since it uses its own logistics network, it can reduce carbon emissions caused by frequent deliveries, making it the best delivery platform that also participates in eco-friendly practices.”
