This year’s selected Hyeongyeong Gaip Port will invest 5 billion KRW to improve fishing infrastructure, including the construction of a new quay, repair and reinforcement of the pier, creation of a fishermen’s resting area, installation of a floating dock, and installation of a hoist.

Haeje Masil Port plans to invest 5 billion KRW to expand the quay, build a new breakwater, install a floating dock, and install a hoist, aiming to develop into a multi-purpose, multi-functional port rather than a simple fishing port.

Muan-gun has been selected for 62.2 billion KRW in eight ports from 2019 to 2022 through the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ public contest projects and is currently implementing them. With the addition of 10 billion KRW for two new projects in this contest, a total of 72.2 billion KRW has been selected for 10 ports, achieving a remarkable success.

Governor Kim San said, “Through the Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project, we will do our best to revitalize the local economy by improving the quality of life for residents, promoting specialized projects to establish a tourism base, and creating vibrant fishing villages that people want to visit, thereby increasing fishermen’s income and creating jobs.”
