Multi-Year Contract with CW Network
"Holds Great Significance, A Very Important Day"
LIV Golf has secured a TV broadcasting contract in the United States.
On the 20th (Korean time), LIV Golf announced that it had signed a multi-year broadcasting contract with the U.S. broadcaster CW Network. CW Network is a company recently acquired by Nexstar, a major U.S. media group. The specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.
LIV Golf made its debut last year and initially streamed its events through its own website and YouTube instead of TV broadcasts. Greg Norman (Australia), the head of LIV Golf, announced the broadcasting contract, saying, "This is a very important day for LIV Golf as the contract holds greater significance than just simple broadcasting rights," and emphasized, "Since CW Network will provide LIV Golf events to more than 120 million households across the United States, it will be easier for fans to watch, and players and sponsors will gain maximum exposure."
CW Network will broadcast the 2nd and 3rd rounds of LIV Golf held on Saturdays and Sundays locally, while the 1st round on Fridays will be streamed only via an app.
Dennis Miller, chairman of CW Network, expressed satisfaction, saying, "Through cooperation with LIV Golf, our network has reached a new milestone," and added, "For the first time in 17 years since its founding, we will be broadcasting a major sports event."
