[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Hanwha Systems announced on the 20th that it conducted a volunteer activity to share Lunar New Year food with elderly national veterans living alone.

The day before, Hanwha Systems served rice cake soup with dumplings, seasoned vegetables, fruits, and other foods to about 100 vulnerable elderly national veterans living alone at the Veterans Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, and also delivered commemorative gifts. CEO Uh Seong-cheol and employees from the Seoul business site participated. Since 2016, they have been conducting holiday volunteer activities at the Veterans Hall in Jung-gu.

The Yongin, Pangyo, and Seohyeon business sites delivered rice cake soup rice cakes to 200 households of national veterans and their families within the jurisdiction of the Eastern Gyeonggi Veterans Office on the same day.

CEO Uh said, "We conducted volunteer activities to honor the spirit of sacrifice of national veterans and to express respect and gratitude," adding, "Hanwha Systems will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by reflecting on the meaning of sharing."

Hanwha Systems conducts employee visits to the National Cemetery and grave site cleaning volunteer activities on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and Armed Forces Day, as well as housing improvement projects for veteran families and career mentoring for military personnel.
