[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seogangseok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, visited a local child welfare facility (Bomchae) on the 19th ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday to check on children living in group homes and facility workers, exchanging holiday greetings.
On the afternoon of the same day, Mayor Seo visited the child welfare facility (Bomchae) in the area, spent playtime with children living in group homes, and had conversations to enjoy a pleasant time together. He also checked on their health and living conditions and encouraged the hard work of the facility staff.
At the event, Mayor Seo said, "Despite difficult circumstances, we will pay more attention and strive to support children to grow up bright and healthy. Furthermore, we will extend meticulous administrative care to create a city where no one is left behind or struggles in welfare blind spots."
The district donated items such as rice cake soup kits, snacks, books, and toys prepared for children with funds raised through the '2023 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fundraising.'
In addition, since January this year, Songpa-gu has been working to create an 'inclusive city Songpa' where no one is marginalized by introducing allowances for low-income elderly living alone and people with disabilities, walking together with socially vulnerable groups.

Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, visited Chungam Senior Center located in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, on the afternoon of the 19th with Lee Giil, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Mayor Kim carefully inspected the site of Chungam Senior Center, checked preparations for the winter cold, and conveyed holiday greetings and well-wishes to the elderly using the center. She spent time directly communicating with the seniors, listening to difficulties and suggestions related to the use of the senior center.

Increases Support Funds for Facilities and Improves Support Based on Facility Size
Guro-gu continues warm companionship with neighbors in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heonil) announced that ahead of the Lunar New Year, Mayor Moon Heonil and public officials of grade 4 and above will visit social welfare facilities and marginalized groups in the area to carry out consolation activities.
On the afternoon of the 18th, Mayor Moon visited the Guro-gu Public Workshop for the Disabled, Guro Disabled Family Support Center, and Guro Lifelong Education Center for the Developmentally Disabled to encourage workers and users and convey warm hearts.
This Lunar New Year consolation targets 59 social welfare facilities and 10,219 households of marginalized groups including basic livelihood security recipients, low-income disabled persons, and independence patriots.
This year, consolation funds will be delivered to a total of 59 social welfare facilities. Nine additional facilities including comprehensive welfare centers, regional self-support centers, and elderly welfare facilities were added, and the previous method of uniform payment by facility was improved to provide reasonable support according to facility size.
Along with this, consolation funds are also delivered to 201 senior centers, child care facilities, and child group homes to spread a warm holiday atmosphere.
A Guro-gu official said, "We prioritize 'warm companionship' and will pay more careful attention to ensure no residents are left out. We hope everyone spends a warm Lunar New Year holiday with their neighbors."

Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jo Seongmyeong) held a traditional market shopping event for the Lunar New Year on the 18th at Gangnam Gaepo Market, Dogok Market, and Yeongdong Traditional Market. The traditional markets offered a 5-10% discount on holiday ritual items, food sharing events, and prize giveaways.
