Messi's Face Appears in Argentina Cornfield

Calculate Seed Sowing Positions to Create a Mesh Face

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The face of Argentina's representative soccer player, Lionel Messi, can now be seen in a local cornfield.

Reuters reported on the 18th (local time) that Messi's face was engraved in a cornfield in Cordoba, central Argentina. This was done following Argentina's victory in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, thanks to Messi's outstanding performance.

The owner of this cornfield, farmer Maximiliano Spinace, calculated the planting positions of the corn seeds in advance to create Messi's face. This was made possible by using coding designed by agricultural engineer Carlos Parisei for seed sowing.

Spinace said, "Messi is unparalleled. Now they (the World Cup soccer team) are world champions," and added, "I am happy to express this through crop planting."

Argentina is a country with a developed soccer culture and a major agricultural producer. It ranks third in the world in corn production.
