Kookmin University (President Lim Hong-jae) Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation announced on the 17th that it has formed a scale-up specialized mentoring group to support the growth of startup companies in Eunpyeong-gu and held an inauguration ceremony at the Eunpyeong Startup Support Center Bukhansan Valley (Director Hwang Bo-yoon), which it operates under consignment.
The ‘Kano QFD Corporate Growth Problem-Solving Specialized Mentoring Group’ formed through this inauguration ceremony consists of startup experts dedicated to the growth and resolution of various issues faced by startup companies in Eunpyeong-gu. Since 2016, this expert group has been conducting product improvement academy programs for startups over three years old under the then Small and Medium Business Administration, supporting startup companies to achieve sales growth of 5 to 10 times or more over the past seven years.
Professor Hwang Bo-yoon of Kookmin University’s Graduate School of Global Entrepreneurship and Venture, who is responsible for operating the center, commented, “The formation of this corporate growth specialized mentoring group will be the first step toward producing future unicorn companies in Eunpyeong-gu, where the foundation for technology startups is lacking.”
The Eunpyeong Startup Support Center is a facility completed in December 2022 and entrusted to Kookmin University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation by Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) to foster technology startup companies. It provides free office space to a total of 13 companies and operates a shared space where any resident of Eunpyeong-gu can receive technology startup consulting. The center plans to begin recruiting resident companies in earnest starting with a recruitment announcement in February.
