[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will operate the 'Seol Holiday Snow Removal Emergency Response Team' from the 21st to the 24th in preparation for heavy snowfall during the Lunar New Year holiday.
On the 19th, Suwon City announced that it has formed a snow removal emergency response team of 165 members to spread snow removal agents on roads three hours before a snowfall forecast and to immediately carry out snow removal work when it snows. Additionally, the city has secured 95 snow removal vehicles and 2,918 tons of snow removal agents.
Furthermore, Suwon City will promote the 'Clear the Snow in Front of My House and Store Campaign' to prepare for road icing caused by snow. This campaign encourages citizens to clear the snow accumulated in front of their homes and stores when it snows.
Previously, Suwon City produced promotional materials for the 'Clear the Snow in Front of My House and Store Campaign' and 'Citizen Action Guidelines During Heavy Snowfall,' which were distributed to civil complaint departments of the city and district offices as well as community service centers.
A Suwon City official stated, "If it snows during the Lunar New Year holiday, we will promptly carry out snow removal work to create a safe and pleasant road environment," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that citizens can safely visit their hometowns."
He also urged, "Please actively participate in the campaign to clear the snow accumulated in front of your house and store so that snow removal work can be carried out quickly."
