[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Kakao Enterprise is launching the development of AI logistics technology based on the logistics ecosystem platform 'Kakao i LaaS' centered on logistics centers.
On the 18th, Kakao Enterprise announced that it will establish 'Kakao i LaaS LAB (Logistics AI Base) Gonjiam' in partnership with Asetech, a total logistics automation solution company. Scheduled to open in the first half of this year, Kakao i LaaS LAB Gonjiam is located in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. It spans a total floor area of 1,560 pyeong.
The two companies will secure logistics data based at Kakao i LaaS LAB Gonjiam. Based on this, they will develop AI-based logistics services reflecting the needs of consignors (sellers). Kakao Enterprise will connect Asetech’s advanced automation facilities with Kakao i LaaS solutions such as ▲warehouse matching ▲order/logistics management system (OM) ▲warehouse management system (WM). In the future, they plan to establish a Kakao i LaaS certification system to build a logistics network and provide tour programs for participating companies.
The two companies also signed a business agreement. Kakao Enterprise will provide ▲advanced AI, search, and data analysis technologies of Kakao i LaaS ▲overall branding and marketing of Kakao i LaaS LAB. Asetech will be responsible for ▲fulfillment operations at Kakao i LaaS LAB Gonjiam ▲investment in logistics center facilities and logistics automation equipment ▲supporting key Kakao i LaaS solutions for consignor customers as a reseller partner. Additionally, they will jointly research and develop AI logistics technology.
Baek Sang-yeop, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, emphasized, "‘Kakao i LaaS LAB Gonjiam,’ launched in collaboration with Asetech, will serve as a logistics hub connecting multiple participants and creating business value. We will continue to accelerate the development of AI logistics technology and services."
