[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Organic Hwangto rice from Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, is capturing consumers' tastes at Emart stores nationwide.
The county announced on the 18th that on the 16th, it held the first shipment ceremony sending 'Organic Hwangto Rice' to Emart stores nationwide at the Hangyeol Agricultural Cooperative Corporation's eco-friendly processing center in Gosu-myeon.

Attendees at the shipment ceremony included Park Jong-dae, CEO of Hangyeol Agricultural Cooperative Corporation; Yoo Jae-gwan, President of the Gochang-gun Eco-friendly Federation; Kim Yong-tae, Director of Songam Complex; Lee Kwang-ho, Director of Yeogok Complex; Yoo Jae-jun, Director of Seoktan Complex; and Kang Bu-deok, Director of Yongdu Complex.
Gochang Organic Hwangto Rice is of the Sugwang variety, rich in germanium content, and grown exposed to sea breeze, resulting in excellent taste, recognized by consumers as the best rice.
Starting with 30 tons (3,000 bags/10 kg) of organic Hwangto rice, the plan is to supply 360 tons annually, generating sales exceeding 1 billion KRW, contributing to stable farm income.
The shipped rice will be sold at 137 stores nationwide through three Emart logistics centers.
The eco-friendly producers' group attending the shipment ceremony stated, "Let's produce high-quality rice and process it through the eco-friendly processing center with strict quality control to establish it as the nation's most trusted rice."
