Eradication of Factors Undermining Public Service Discipline Such as Bribery

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, will conduct a 'Seol Holiday Integrity Campaign' for two days from the 17th to the 18th in the first-floor lobby of the city hall to establish a culture of integrity and spread awareness of integrity ahead of the Seol holiday.

This campaign was prepared to eradicate factors that undermine public service discipline, such as lax work discipline, bribery, and drunk driving, which may arise in the festive atmosphere before the Seol holiday.

It also aims to preemptively block harmful factors, promote the habitual practice of integrity among employees in the workplace, and create a voluntary participation atmosphere. Furthermore, it plans to enhance citizens' trust through the creation of an organizational culture of integrity and the promotion of commitment to integrity.

On this day, the city guided all employees on integrity policies such as the 'Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act' and 'Understanding the Anti-Graft Act' and actively requested their participation in creating an honest administration.

To eradicate violations of the Anti-Graft Act and the Code of Conduct for Public Officials and to induce voluntary integrity practice by public officials themselves, a 'Integrity Alert' was issued.

The city continues to implement various integrity policies to create an honest public service society, including anti-corruption integrity education, integrity broadcasts, operation of integrity councils, public interest reporting systems, and private undercover inspectors.

Mayor Park Dong-sik said, "A restless and unsettled atmosphere may arise ahead of the holiday," and added, "We will do our best to spread an honest organizational culture through various integrity policies and realize a trusted and integrity-oriented Sacheon City."
