[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 17th, the Gwangju Northern Fire Station conducted a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) experience training at Gwangju Station ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The experience training was held for passengers at Gwangju Station, prepared to help citizens participate and empathize in creating a safe holiday by experiencing CPR that can save lives in emergency situations in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The golden time for cardiac arrest patients is '4 minutes,' and performing CPR promptly along with a quick 119 emergency call can save precious lives.
CPR requires chest compressions at the center of the chest to a depth of 5 cm, at a rate of 2 times per second (100 times per minute), and detailed instructions are provided when calling 119.
Joo Sun-mi, Head of the 119 Disaster Response Department, said, "I hope this CPR experience training serves as an opportunity to prepare for emergencies," and added, "I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Lunar New Year holiday with your loved ones."
