Everyone knows that ‘walking’ is the easiest exercise to maintain health, but putting it into practice is not that easy. As the New Year begins, everyone is making plans and renewing their mindset. How about joining the “10,000 Steps a Day, 1,000 Characters a Day” campaign organized by Asia Economy this time?
Our Korea Forest Service is also implementing various policies to help people protect their health and enjoy contemplation while walking forest trails. We have designated and manage 11,000 routes totaling over 42,000 km of forest paths nationwide, and in September last year, we began creating the 849 km East-West Trail connecting the eastern and western parts of the Korean Peninsula.
Additionally, we are working hard to make forests easily accessible to everyone by creating various facilities near urban areas, such as arboretums, gardens, recreational forests, forest bathing sites, and healing forests.
Wishing success to the “10,000 Steps a Day, 1,000 Characters a Day” campaign that protects me and my family, the Korea Forest Service also promises to provide various information such as good walking forests and recommended forest trails.
