With support from Hotel Shilla and Jeju Province, restaurant owners who succeeded in making a comeback practiced sharing by delivering blankets to neighbors in need ahead of the Lunar New Year.
On the 16th, Hotel Shilla announced on the 17th that the restaurant owners participating in Jeju's representative social contribution activity, 'Making Delicious Jeju,' visited the Jeju Volunteer Center and delivered 100 blankets for underprivileged neighbors.
Attending the delivery ceremony were Go Tae-eon, Director of the Jeju Volunteer Center; Kwon Eun-ae, Office Manager; Park Jeong-mi, Owner of the first branch of Making Delicious Jeju; Oh Bok-ja, Owner of the 11th branch; Yoon Jae-pil, Manager of Shilla Duty Free Jeju Branch; and Kim Cheol-jong, Deputy Manager, totaling six people.
The Making Delicious Jeju restaurant owners prepared the blankets with the hope that underprivileged neighbors would stay warm during the cold winter, and Hotel Shilla also contributed support funds with heartfelt sincerity. The delivered blankets are scheduled to be distributed to 30 households in Yeondong, Jeju, and 70 other households across the province before the Lunar New Year holiday.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Making Delicious Jeju project is a win-win program promoted by Hotel Shilla in collaboration with Jeju Province and local broadcasters to strengthen the competitiveness of Jeju's food culture in tourism and support small business owners in making a comeback. In 2015, it received the highest honor in the corporate category, the Presidential Citation, at the 10th National Volunteer Day event.
Hotel Shilla employees provide support such as cooking methods, customer service training, and complete kitchen facility renovations for small-scale business owners operating restaurants in Jeju.
The volunteer group 'Good Connection,' voluntarily formed by the Making Delicious Jeju restaurant owners, has been continuing social contribution activities for nine years since 2015, sharing the help they received with others.
