Gyeonggi Public Library Publishes 'Librarians' Book Stories 2022' 'Librarians' Book Stories 2022' Book Cover

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] "Librarians' Book Stories 2022," which contains a list of books recommended by librarians working in libraries in Gyeonggi-do over the past year and their reviews, has been published.

"Librarians' Book Stories" is an activity collection of the Gyeonggi-do Librarian Review Group, featuring a list of 435 recommended books published last year and reviews of 160 of those books. It also includes 12 award-winning works and judges' comments from the Gyeonggi-do book review contest held for residents in October, the month of reading.

The Gyeonggi-do Librarian Review Group is selected annually from librarians working in public libraries within the province, with 63 librarians participating last year. Selected every January, they receive training to evaluate the value of books and engage in various activities throughout the year, such as introducing the content and characteristics of books. The group was first formed in 2009.

This year's published review collection will be distributed to about 300 public libraries in Gyeonggi-do.

Park Jeong-sook, Director of the Library Policy Division of Gyeonggi-do, requested, "I hope that the recommended books and reviews, achieved through the efforts of librarians over the year, will help library users choose books and lead to enjoyable reading experiences with those books."
