[Tomorrow's Weather] Nationwide Morning 'Below Freezing Severe Cold'... Also Mostly Cloudy

[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] On Tuesday morning, the 17th, the entire country will experience temperatures below freezing, making it very cold. There will also be many clouds nationwide.

The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -13 and -2 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between -1 and 7 degrees Celsius. Morning temperatures will be 1 to 5 degrees lower than on the 16th, making it colder. Especially in the eastern Gyeonggi region, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and inland Gyeongbuk, where cold wave warnings are in effect, morning temperatures will drop below -10 degrees Celsius, and with slightly strong winds, the wind chill will make it feel even colder.

Daytime highs are expected to range from -1 to 7 degrees Celsius. The expected low and high temperatures in major cities are: Seoul and Incheon at -7 and 1 degrees Celsius, Daejeon at -7 and 2 degrees Celsius, Gwangju and Daegu at -5 and 4 degrees Celsius, Ulsan at -4 and 6 degrees Celsius, and Busan at -2 and 7 degrees Celsius.

While there will be many clouds nationwide, occasional raindrops will fall in Jeju. Snow will flutter in the low-temperature mountainous areas of Jeju. At night, some snow may also fall in the Seoul metropolitan area and western Gangwon.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has advised caution for traffic safety and pedestrian accidents, as in areas where snow fell over the weekend?mainly the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, and some inland northern Chungcheong and Gyeongbuk regions?the snow that melts during the day will refreeze overnight, creating icy roads or thin ice on many streets.

Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.

In the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West and South Seas.

Along the East Coast, until the afternoon of the 17th, swells will flow in, causing high waves to strongly surge onto sandy beaches and overflow coastal roads, rocky shores, and breakwaters. Therefore, it is advised to avoid approaching the coastline and to be cautious about safety accidents and facility management.
