Sancheong-gun Supports Loan Interest Rates for Returning Farmers' Startups and Home Purchases

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province is recruiting candidates for the ‘Return-to-Farming Agricultural Startup and Housing Purchase Support Project’.

This project was established to support returnees to farming in stabilizing their settlement in agriculture and rural areas by assisting with agricultural startups and securing residential spaces. The support covers the interest rate difference between loans with credit and collateral and low-interest loans as secondary compensation.

The eligible candidates are returnees to farming who have continuously lived outside rural farming and fishing areas for more than one year and have moved into Sancheong-gun within the last five years. Also eligible are non-agricultural residents living in rural areas who are not engaged in agriculture.

The age requirement is household heads aged 65 or younger (born after January 1, 1957). The funding application limit per household is up to 300 million KRW for agricultural startup funds and up to 75 million KRW for housing purchase funds.

Sancheong-gun plans to conduct in-depth interview evaluations by the selection screening committee and prioritize support within the allocated amount based on the highest scores. The final loan amount will be determined according to the loan screening results within the selected amount.
