Leap Forward for Machinery Industry Development... Machinery Industry New Year's Gathering

Achieving $50 Billion in General Machinery Exports for Two Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Lee Chang-yang) and the Korea Machine Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Son Dong-yeon, hereinafter KMIPA) held the '2023 Machine Industry New Year's Meeting' on the 16th at the 63 Convention Center Grand Ballroom.


At this New Year's meeting, Jang Young-jin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, attended on behalf of the government. About 250 key figures from various sectors and executives and employees of the machine industry, including Son Dong-yeon, Chairman of KMIPA, Park Sang-jin, President of the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, Yoon Hee-sung, President of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, and Lee Yong-bae, CEO of Hyundai Rotem, gathered together.


Leap Forward for Machinery Industry Development... Machinery Industry New Year's Gathering Kijinhoe Chairman Son Dong-yeon is delivering a New Year's address.

This event, resumed after three years since COVID-19, celebrated the achievement of $50 billion in general machinery exports for two consecutive years despite difficult conditions last year, and pledged a new start and leap forward for the development of the machine industry.


In his New Year's address, Son Dong-yeon, Chairman of KMIPA, said, "Following last year, a difficult business environment is expected this year as well," and added, "We will do our best to support the management of the machinery industry and strengthen the competitiveness of the machine industry in line with the government's policy efforts to improve this situation."
