Appointment of Members to the Gender Equality Committee

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 16th that it held the Gender Equality Committee member appointment ceremony at the City Hall 3rd Conference Room.


The Gender Equality Committee consists of 20 members with extensive knowledge and experience in gender equality, including the ex officio chairman, First Deputy Mayor An Gyeong-won, and the term of office is two years.

The committee serves as an advisory body on the establishment and implementation of gender equality policies, deliberates on matters related to the management and operation of the gender equality fund, and will carry out activities on various policies such as creating a women-friendly city in Changwon and improving the status of women.


On this day, appointment certificates were awarded to attending members, along with explanations of the functions of the Gender Equality Committee, information on public contest projects, and the formation of subcommittees.


First Deputy Mayor An Gyeong-won said, “We will do our best to discover and promote various policies through cooperation between the public and private sectors so that citizens can feel the realization of a gender-equal society and improve discriminatory social structures in daily life.”
