10th Total 800 Million Views, Proving YouTube Influence
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] BLACKPINK's hit song "Playing with Fire" music video has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube.
On the 16th, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK's "Playing with Fire" music video exceeded 800 million views on YouTube around 1:40 a.m. This achievement came approximately 6 years and 2 months after its release, demonstrating the high level of interest from global fans.
"Playing with Fire" is one of the double title tracks from BLACKPINK's second single "SQUARE TWO," released in November 2016.
BLACKPINK has a total of 38 videos with over 100 million views, and among them, 10 videos have surpassed 800 million views. Prior to "Playing with Fire," the videos that reached over 800 million views include "Ice Cream" (800 million views), "DDU-DU DDU-DU" (1.9 billion views), "Kill This Love" (1.7 billion views), "Boombayah" (1.5 billion views), "As If It's Your Last" (1.2 billion views), "How You Like That" performance video (1.2 billion views) and music video (1.1 billion views), Jennie's solo track "SOLO" (800 million views), and the "Whistle" music video (800 million views).
Currently on their world tour, BLACKPINK completed 14 shows in 7 North American cities and 10 shows in 7 European cities last year, and on July 7-8, they kicked off their Asia tour in Lisa's hometown of Bangkok.
BLACKPINK is scheduled to headline the U.S. "Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival" in April and the U.K.'s "Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival" in July.
