Expansion of Partnerships with Seoul National University, Korea University, Severance, Hanyang University, and Chung-Ang University Hospitals
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] It will become possible to easily claim actual expense insurance benefits through KakaoPay at 47 major general hospitals in Korea.
On the 16th, KakaoPay announced that it has included 47 major general hospitals in the ‘Hospital Bill Claim’ service, which allows easy claims for actual expense insurance benefits. Accordingly, patients can check their medical records and claim hospital bills through KakaoPay at general hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Korea University Hospital, Severance Hospital, Hanyang University Hospital, and Chung-Ang University Hospital.
Additionally, a system has been established that allows users to check medical records from the past two years and proceed with hospital bill claims. This means that claims can be made even for visits that were previously missed.
Previously, KakaoPay launched the ‘Hospital Bill Claim’ service in September last year. Users can claim by photographing the necessary documents via mobile, or at affiliated hospitals, claim insurance benefits immediately without taking photos.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the expansion of this partnership, a special event will be held until the 15th of next month. Users who claim medical statements from the 47 major general hospitals through KakaoPay will receive a certain amount of KakaoPay points for the first time only.
A KakaoPay official said, "We expanded the service with the idea of eliminating the inconvenience of having to revisit hospitals when documents required for claiming major general hospital medical expenses are missing," adding, "We plan to enhance functions and improve user experience so that all processes from hospital bill payment to insurance benefit payment can be conveniently completed within KakaoPay."
